Hi, I’m Amber, a Food Intolerance Test therapist. I have been qualified since 2015 but have been working in the holistic health industry since 2013. After having breast cancer at the young age of 34, I started looking more closely at food and its affect on the human body. Chemotherapy had left me with severe nerve damage and intolerance to multiple foods, including healthy foods like coconut, grapefruit, kiwi, tomatoes and almond. I realised that whenever my stomach pain started, the pain from the nerve damage increased also, giving me a double whammy of pain. Pharmaceuticals were effective in a limited capacity and the side effects were unpleasant; it just wasn’t working for me and something had to change.

So, I read health books. I followed online forums to discover what supplementation was working for people and in which combinations. I devoured every bit of knowledge I could find and embarked on a quest to heal myself holistically. I attempted to rebuild my health with a fresh, mostly organic diet, a healthy lifestyle, probiotics and other supplementation. I felt a decrease in the pain from my damaged nervous system, but it wasn’t enough. I forged a relationship with a local independent health store owner who, after learning I’d been made redundant, one day offered me a job based on my passion for health. The pivotal moment for me though, was having a Food Intolerance Test while working at the store. It correctly identified the 14 foods that were still causing me painful digestive issues and, within a week of eliminating the stated foods, my digestive issues went away. The nerve pain also made a sharp decline and a year later was completely gone along with any requirement for medication. For me, the link between gut health and whole-body health had been made and I’ve never looked back.

Becoming an Intolerance Tester myself was the obvious next step.

I qualified with Fiona Gibson (Diet X) at the College of Naturopathic Nutrition and started putting my vision into practice. To further my knowledge, I have obtained qualifications in Anatomy & Physiology, Holistic Nutrition and Allergy Testing (Distinction), from the School of Natural Health Sciences. The test had worked for me in a life changing way and I want to give that opportunity to others. I hope to be able to give you the tools you need to embark on your own journey towards better health.
